Curriculum Intent

We aim to assist students to understand and harness their own creativity and to allow them to think ‘outside the box’ and encourage original methods of problem-solving.

Our vision is to engage, inspire and challenge students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and be creative.

Key Stage 5

Our aim is to ensure you are given the support and confidence required to conduct a personal investigation into a topic, theme, concept of your choice. This will involve creative ideas development, problem-solving, risk taking, perseverance, contextual interpretation, visual communication and self expression.

Photography allows you to be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of photographic media, techniques and processes. You will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times, including European and non-European examples,  both traditional and new technologies.

Students will have the opportunity to visit museums, galleries and exhibitions, take residential trips abroad, and be part of technical workshops.
