Our intent is that Orleans Park will be a model of outstanding student leadership, preparing our students for both academic success and a lifetime of meaningful contributions, thoughtful decision-making, and transformative leadership.
At the heart of our school, we envision a dynamic and inclusive student leadership program that empowers each student to discover, develop, and deploy their unique leadership potential, enabling them to Be The Best You Can Be. Our vision is to foster an environment where student leaders are not only catalysts for positive change within our school community but also ambassadors of our school values of Responsibility, Resilience and Respect.
Sixth Formers are role models for students in the lower school. Our Senior Student Leadership Team is composed of seven sixth formers who engage all other students in our community to be this catalyst for positive change.
Below are their primary areas of focus:
Comprising of three students per year group and run by the Senior Student Leaders, the Student Committee for Change meets half-termly to lead on specific school projects which benefit our community.
There are numerous additional leadership opportunities for all students in Years 7 to 13 across the school, including working with the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Richmond Youth Parliament. We have two designated teachers responsible for student leadership who work with our Heads of House, Heads of Year and other senior staff to promote these opportunities across the Orleans Park community.
As one of this year’s Head Students, I hope to be the bridge between Students and Teachers, striving to give all students the voice that they deserve. I am profoundly excited to work closely with the rest of the Student Leadership team to carry out some student-led changes to further boost the already incredible environment at Orleans Park. I aspire to create an atmosphere in which students feel comfortable approaching me or any member of the Student Leadership team for advice, whether that be academic, talking about anything they are struggling with or just for a friendly chat. I feel honoured to have been appointed to this role and I look forward to dedicating my time and effort to building on the remarkable learning conditions here at Orleans Park.
As one of this year's Head Students, I aspire to provide a space for students to feel heard and to encourage those in the school community to vocalise their suggestions. By acting as an advocate for student interest, I strive to be a visible presence for students, in all years alike, to feel comfortable they can talk to with any concerns both academically or regarding the operations within the school. With the extensive extracurricular activities and events, we have on offer, I hope to utilise this position to deliver the best results on student wellbeing and involvement. I look forward to having the opportunity to work alongside the rest of the Student Leadership Team as well as the staff to communicate the ways in which we can help sustain the supportive and inclusive environment here at Orleans Park.
