Sport at Orleans Park

Participation * Performance * Persistence * Passion

The PE Department at Orleans Park School prides itself on the opportunities and experiences that are made available to all students in addition to their lessons. We strive to promote breadth and balance within the range of activities we offer and ensure they are inclusive and accessible to all.

The clubs we have on offer are embedded within our curriculum vision of the four P’s (Participation, Performance, Persistence, Passion) and instil values such as responsibility, resilience and respect. As well as this, they aid the development of students’ team, leadership and communication skills by providing students with the opportunity to compete in team and individual sports. Teams and individuals are also entered into and compete in a large variety of competitions such as local Borough Leagues and tournaments, County and National Cups, Sisters in Sport and English Schools Competitions.

Supporting Extra-Curricular Clubs

We pride ourselves on offering a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and opportunities for all our students.

Any additional funding we receive is used for external qualified coaches to assist us in the delivery of the large number of clubs we currently offer.  This has enabled our school to continue to compete at a local, county, regional and national level, and to provide opportunities to our students.

If students wish to attend a sports/dance club at Orleans Park, we would greatly appreciate a donation of £20 per term, per family; any further financial donation would be gratefully received.

If you can support our extra-curricular sporting activities, voluntary contributions can be made via ParentPay.

For the specialist clubs that are run exclusively by external coaches, we have to charge an additional cost varying between £25 and £100 per term. These clubs include Basketball, Boxing, Judo, Duathlon, Yoga, Volleyball and Rowing. These clubs run for either 8 or 10 weeks and have a limited number of spaces.

Please be assured that no child will miss out on the opportunity to attend one of these additional paid clubs due to family financial restraints and, in this case, familiies can contact the Head of PE, Ms Kemp
