Pupil Premium is additional funding provided to schools to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged students. We use this funding strategically, based on the needs of our students and evidence about the approaches that are most likely to make a positive difference.
Our Pupil Premium strategy is rooted in a detailed understanding of our students and the barriers that may affect their achievement, attendance, engagement and wider participation in school life.
Our approach focuses on three key areas:
High Quality Teaching
Excellent classroom teaching is central to improving outcomes for disadvantaged students. We therefore prioritise approaches that strengthen teaching, curriculum, assessment and professional development and ensure that all students receive consistently high-quality learning experiences.
Targeted Academic Support
Where students need additional help to make progress, we use appropriate, evidence-informed interventions and targeted support. This may include additional teaching, small-group or individual support and other approaches designed to address identified learning needs.
Wider Support
We recognise that successful learning is influenced by a range of factors beyond the classroom. Our strategy therefore also considers barriers such as attendance, wellbeing, engagement and access to the wider opportunities available through school.
We monitor the impact of our approach carefully and use this evaluation to inform future priorities and ensure that our resources are directed towards approaches that have the greatest potential to improve outcomes for our students.

Pupil Premium Statement 2026/27
Eligibility for Pupil Premium funding is linked to a number of circumstances, including eligibility for free school meals now or at any point during the previous six years. Additional funding is also provided in respect of some children who are, or have previously been, in local authority care.
Families who think their child may be eligible for free school meals are encouraged to check their eligibility and apply. Registering for free school meals can help ensure that the school receives the additional funding available to support disadvantaged students.
